China Establishes Its Third Semiconductor Fund to Enhance Self Sufficiency
The National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund is amassing a pool of capital for its third semiconductor vehicle, having raised over $27 billion* thus far. Referred as the Big Fund, it is China’s primary vehicle for providing domestic chipmakers with financial assistance. The establishment of the third fund, with significantly larger asset size, demonstrates an on-going and resolute commitment to enhance self-sufficiency in the world’s largest semiconductor market and keeping pace with the rapid advancement in artificial intelligence.
